Entrepreneur Scholarship Winner Announcement
It's taken some time for us to compile and go through all the entries, but after an exhaustive judging process, it's time to announce the winner of the Positive Lending Solutions Entrepreneur Scholarship for 2016. So without further ado, a huge congratulations from our entire team goes out to Gemma Craven, who runs Gemma Clare's Lifestyle Nutrition.
Profile Of The 2016 Entrepreneur Scholarship Winner
Gemma is a passionate nutrition student from Perth, with a mission to battle the misinformation in nutrition and help us all reach the best quality lives we can through improved nutrition.
There is so much misinformation out there about nutrition, confusing us all! And this misinformation is preventing us from reaching our best quality of life.
Gemma runs a nutrition blog and her aim is to encourage, support and promote a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation, and she also hopes she can help reduce the burden of diet-related disease in our futures.
My goal is to have you learn as I learn, so we can bust those food myths and give you the real facts that will allow you to move towards a happier and healthier lifestyle. I’m all about the power of nutrition and sharing the evidence-based knowledge that I am learning at University.
Gemma's website contains incredibly delicious recipes, general nutrition guidelines, and she challenges nutrition misinformation through her blog. You can keep up to date with her new nutrition news on social media via her Facebook Page.
Gemma Clare's Story
We thought about writing a small description here, but with such a talented blogger we thought we'd let Gemma tell you all what drives her and how she came to start her blog, over to you Gemma.
Illness through my early teenage years began my journey to health with many doctor visits, specialists and tests frustratingly producing no results. After turning to natural medicine as a last attempt I was diagnosed with Hyperglycemia by a Naturopath. This then spurred a drastic lifestyle change toward good nutrition and being physically active to modulate my blood sugar to a safe and manageable level. This lifestyle shift at a young age inspired my interest in nutrition, as I had seen first hand and understood how a good diet made such a difference to my health.
I have a great love of animals, dogs in particular. My golden retriever Loki is one of the most important things in my life and integral to my physical and mental health. If you don’t find me madly studying or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I am out in the park playing with Loki or training with him for my next running race. I try to keep my fitness regime varied by attending Bootcamp, running, swimming, biking, home workouts, entering Tough Mudder, ROC race, Spartan race, fun runs and small triathlons as I do get bored quite easily.
I have some amazing things planned for the future with my blog and career as a Nutritionist so please follow me on my journey, give me your feedback and watch this space!
Love Gemma and Loki xox
